NZ Asian Lawyers
2025 Wrap Up
We’ve had a busy and rewarding year, beginning with Considering Possible Settlement: Asian Parties in Court (19 May, Russell McVeagh), followed by Mediating Between and With Asian Parties in Dispute (14 August, Chapman Tripp). We continued with Leading the Way: Asian Women Lawyers in Leadership (9 October, Simpson Grierson), and later hosted Asian Women Lawyers: After Work – Cocktails (4 November, Dr Rudi’s Rooftop Brewing Co). We also partnered with the Real Estate Authority for Fair Real Estate Transaction – REA x NZAL (12 November, Meredith Connell), and connected with our younger practitioners through Young Lawyers: Wellington End-of-Year Catch-up (25 November, Ernesto’s Cocina Cabana). A major highlight was the NZ Asian Lawyers Awards 2025 (6 November, Meredith Connell), where we celebrated excellence, leadership, and outstanding contributions within the Asian legal community.
We want to thank all our members, supporters, and sponsors for helping make it happen.

Looking forward to 2026
We are thrilled to announce that in 2026 the New Zealand Law Society will be partnering with us to host a major event in Wellington, scheduled for sometime between late April and early June. More details will be shared next year once the programme and venue are confirmed.
Other events are also in the pipeline — and one of our key aims for 2026 is to begin holding events outside Auckland so that we are able to reach Asian lawyers across the rest of the country.
