New Zealand Asian Lawyers Event of the Year 2026

On Sunday, 3 May 2026, New Zealand Asian Lawyers proudly hosted its flagship Event of the Year at the Sunset Bar at the Sudima Hotel.
It was an afternoon dedicated to celebrating excellence, leadership, and the growing impact of the Asian legal community in New Zealand. Bringing together an exceptional group of legal professionals from across the country, the event created a vibrant and meaningful space for connection, recognition, and thoughtful discussion about the profession’s future.
We were honoured to welcome former Attorney-General Judith Collins KC and Shadow Attorney-General Vanushi Walters as keynote speakers, both of whom shared valuable insights and perspectives with attendees.
A particular highlight of the evening was the presentation of the inaugural New Zealand Asian Lawyers Life Memberships to former Governor-General Sir Anand Satyanand and Judge Ajit Swaran Singh. These honours recognised their extraordinary contributions to the legal profession, public service and the wider community, and marked a historic moment for our organisation.
We thank every guest, speaker, supporter, and attendee who contributed to the evening’s success.

This is an annual event, and we will be back with a date for next year. The venue will be double the size as this year sold out almost immediately! We are also looking forward to awarding further Life Memberships of NZAL.
