On 15 August 2024, the New Zealand Asian Lawyers Young Lawyers committee hosted a successful event at the University of Auckland Law School, generously sponsored by McVeagh Fleming. This event was designed to offer law students valuable insights and advice as they transition from law school into the legal profession.
The event saw an impressive turnout, with seven volunteers, including members of the Young Lawyers committee, student representatives, and a colleague from McVeagh Fleming. The discussions were highly engaging and meaningful, focusing on essential topics such as navigating the final year of law school and making a smooth transition into the workforce. A key piece of advice shared with the students was the importance of managing time effectively and not leaving tasks until the last minute.
The positive feedback from students highlighted the value of the discussions and the connections made during the event. Refreshments were provided, adding to the welcoming atmosphere that encouraged open dialogue and networking.
