Last week, the New Zealand Asian Lawyers – Young Lawyers Committee hosted its first panel speaker event in Wellington, “Asian Experiences in the Legal Profession”. Attendees heard from a diverse panel facilitated by Kara, which comprised of Jaini Patel (Ministry for Primary Industries), Anna Ou (Crown Law) and Delia Fu (Buddle Findlay), who each spoke to their lived experiences as Asians working in Aotearoa’s legal profession, and provided insight and thought leadership on ethnic diversity in the legal profession. With over 40 attendees, the event was a great opportunity for members of the legal profession across the field (law students, upcoming lawyers and lawyers up to 7 PQE) to connect with one another.
